Default SNG heads-up etiquette (disconnect)

i had an opponent disconnect during heads-up and of course i ended up with most of the money until he came back up..... and he seemed mad at me, not just at the fact he was disconnected (and yes, it's happened to me quite a few times, or worse been disconnected in a cash game with nut flush)

is there some kind of etiquette i was supposed to use? was i supposed to let the clock run down low before betting? or was i supposed to lose half the hands on purpose to maintain level?

it seems to me like having a good internet connection is part of online poker expertise, like being in shape for tennis. (and as i said, i lost lots of $$$$ before because of a wonky connection).

i'm seriously asking although i think i know the answer....

thanks in advance!!!
