Default Re: 1/2 PLO8 - Party - What do you do?

I want to see the players behind call.

CO only has another $61, and MP2 will be all in for another $165. If they go in the portion of the pot without UTG+1 (whom I expect is subsidizing us with the side pot) will be like $763 and you only need 19% equity for this to be an even call.

Not only do I think you make a small amount of money on this hand, but I think the upside of this hand is WAY bigger than the down side.

Turn/River was probably something like 9,9 and some donk with a dominated hand and a 9 scooped.

What is interesting about this hand is that it seems to me there is a good chance that someone holding a hand like 9JKQ scoops-- though I would never call off my stack with that holding. You would have to think with all the pre-flop callers that there is a much better than normal chance of runner runner hi-card. Perhaps I will run two dimes with the assumption with the hand 9JQK and the assumption that 18-20 low cards are already out. Although I would never be brazen enough to call with such cards.

I'd have jammed the flop to isolate with what is almost certainly the best hand (by showdown, not necessarily now) with UTG+1.

Okay so I decided to shove as I figured one of the two guys behind me would come in as well and I would have super equity on my sidepot vs. UTG+1. After reading some of the posts I think raising right off the flop would have been a good decision as UTG+1 was a super LAG so putting in a big raise there would have been good. I doubt that move would have changed the final results of the hand much but in the long run it would be best, that would have been smarter IMO as I had a "2 way hand" (of sorts)

So here is the equities:
**Side pot equities take into account dead cards from other pots**
Main Pot $462.75
UTG+1: 15.0%
Hero: 28.8%
MP2: 35.6%
CO: 9.5%
SB: 11.1%

Side Pot #1 $391.60
UTG+1: 15.0%
Hero: 30.2%
MP2: 43.6%
SB: 11.2%

Side Pot #2 $15.15
UTG+1: 15.3%
Hero: 30.2%
MP2: 54.6%

Side Pot #3 $224.40
UTG+1: 26.2%
Hero: 73.8%

Stack sizes:

UTG+1: $306.70
Hero: $566.96
MP2: $194.50
CO: $91.55
Button: $425.50
SB: $189.45
BB: $96

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($28, 7 players)

River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($1043.7, 0 player + 5 all-in - Main pot: $465.75, Sidepot 1: $391.6, Sidepot 2: $15.15, Sidepot 3: $171.2)

Results:
Final pot: $1043.7
UTG+1 shows Ad Kd 2d 7c
Hero shows 4s Ac Td 2c
MP2 shows Th Kh Jh Ts
CO doesn't show Jc 5c 4h 4c
SB doesn't show 8d 6s 5s 6c

I dont like MP2's play of the hand either but he plays super passive, call down mode and is a long term loser due to that - I was shocked when I saw his hand, didnt anticipated that... (mainly to to me havin a T in hand)

I haven't read the entire thread yet (I will, I think this hand is very interesting), but my gut reaction would have been to raise the flop when the action was on you. I would have raised the pot instead of calling.

edit: Interesting thread. Lots to think about in this one.

I did struggle with this one at the time becuase I wasnt sure if I wanted to PULL or PUSH - hopefully people are familiar with that from other threads

I think in this case a PUSH was good since I had a very good 2 way hand, and should have appropriate equity in any situation, weather it is 2 way or 5 ways

I should have isolated vs UTG+1, thanks for your imput as I was loooking too far down the line at my action and not really looking at my option to repot UTG+1's pot bet right away - for some reason at the time I wanted to PULL in as many people as possible but since UTG+1 and were both deep I should have just tryed to play a big pot heads up right there
