Re: Sheep Reveal Friday 23
im in vacation in nashville tennessee with my parents in the mid/late 80s. We were not huge country music fans (so why were we there? i dont know ... my mom wanted to go to dollywood i think). Anyways, we were at the Grand Old Opry. My younger brother (probably about 10 at the time) walks over to an old man. My dad comes over and apologizes and the man is like "no i enjoy talking to people. You from around here?" My dad goes, "No, we are from New York. Do you work here?" He says, "yeah, i help clean up."
So we spoke to him for a good 20 minutes or so. He was quite friendly. My Dad asks if he minds being videotaped. The old man says, "sure no problem" So he talks to all of us on videotape. Very friendly. Finally, he says, "It has been a real pleasure speaking to you. BY the way, I am Roy Acuff." He leaves, we say to each other, "Who???" Low and Behold, it really was Roy Acuff. We saw him on the stage at the Grand Old Opry show that night. So to whoever chose "Wreck on the Highway" -- i met Roy Acuff .. holla |
