The XBox Live Arcade Thread

I didn't see a thread on this, so I figured I'd start one.

I just grabbed my first 360 the other day, the Elite. So far so good. I have a couple disk games that I love, but I'm also excited about the XBox Live arcade. It's already got some pretty cool games and some of them take on a whole new life with online multiplayer.

So, here's what I've purchased full versions of...
- Castlevania Symphony of the Night
- Street Figther II Hyper Fighting
- Uno
- Worms

Any other ones worth grabbing? There's a few decent ones, but probably not worth the $5-10.

The game I want more than anything: Super Puzzle Fighter. That's my game and I'd love to play in on the Live.

So, tell us what you've got, what's good, and discuss the new games as they come along.

Geometry Wars is a lot of fun, i highly recommend it

I have Doom and TMNT Arcade, both are easily worth it.

worms is alright when you get used to it.. quite a few differences then say, armageddon.. but decent fun being able to play online.

id say 95% of the games on xbla are total garbage.. theres a free download game i think its called aegis wing, pretty fun to play for a bit. apparently it was a pet project released by 3 interns.. its way better then most of the crap on there, which says a lot.

SotN is supposed to be great, but its not my cup of tea. UNO is fun and probably worth it.

I got a lot of games for free and never play them.

Geometry wars is fun and challenging. The only other game I play is that marble one. Not sure if it's called super or ultra marble blast, but it's very fun online. I haven't bought it, I just play with friends for the time it lets us then remake.

Oh, and Zuma. That's pretty fun.

Smash TV is great for nostalgia. Luxor 2 is tons of fun and challenging. Mortal Kombat is nice. Like was already said, Geometry Wars is awesome. Boom Boom Rocket is also good - it's a bemani (DDRish) game but has its own unique feel, and some fun game modes (endurance!).

You can enable an option to automatically download arcade demos as well. There's a good variety of interesting games. Just see what you like.

I play Catan a lot. Pretty good adaptation if you were/are into the Settlers of Catan board game. Lumines is a blast too, but it's expensive...ends up being like 2k points for the full game because it's split into 3-4 different pieces.

Not planning on it, but it seems like that's standard with the XtremelyhotBox. I could blowdry my hair by sticking my head next to it.

I'll have to check out Geometry Wars.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned much on here, but for anyone who likes geometry wars type stuff, you should check out Space Giraffe by Jeff Minter which is coming soon. Looks like it's basically a cross between Tempest (again) and Neon (the X360 music visualizer).

Holy crap. You just made my day. My $450 XBox may be playing a $10 game for awhile once that comes out.
