For My Dad I set him up with one of my old Dell 20" LCD monitors. Probably worth about the same as the Bose including install ~ $350. I also gave them both Starbucks and Panera giftcards and a couple books.

i love them very much. but i'm pretty sure if i bought my mom an expensive piece of jewelery she'd want me to return it. they have more monies than me and would rather see me spend my monies on myself. or at least on my hot half asian girlfriend who i will be making unprotected love with once she gets back from europe with her family.

Yeah, I don't think I will ever spend this kind of money on my family. They wouldn't want me to/wouldn't be comfortable with it, nor would I want to receive really expensive gifts from them.
