"i'm all in"
or, you can raise to 7500 if you believe that it looks stronger. |

To expand,
Shove because you have major fold equity and you're never way behind. |

Shove for sure. BTW I would be more worried about the raiser's hand than the caller's.

Re: Huge, Huge, Huge pot early in the Stuper, Pair+FD
Jurollo --
As Nath implied, a key to this hand is that UTG+1 can reasonably or unreasonably (given the board, the preflop action, both your depths, and the way these multiway limped pots tend to play) call your bet with a wide range. (So his average hand is weaker.) As Nath also implied, that raise is pretty strong, but basic equity considerations force you to be (more than) willing to go to the felt with him. Since there's no compelling reason to keep UTG+1 in--largely because he has position on you on the turn--you should be reraising. So push. --Nate |

To expand, Shove because you have major fold equity and you're never way behind. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure about having major fold equity. With the caller, I agree, however, with the raiser, I don't think he's folding to a shove. When the action gets to you, the pot is 5000. Your shove makes the effective pot 11500 (assuming the caller folds) making it 3800 for the raiser to call, effectively getting about 3 to 1 on the call. The raiser (correctly) will call with any flush draw, set, two pair, overpair, and TPTK. He will probably call with most top pair hands. My gut feeling on this, and it may not be optimal (due to the caller in between), is that a better play would be to pull a little stop and goesque play to call the flop and pray that the caller doesn't call behind, then shove any turn. This way, even though most of the above hands will call, you can get better flush draws to fold. Just a thought, this could be completely spewish/donkish, but it's at least worth thinking about. |

He has a set about 80% of the time here and AA-KK the other 20% of the time. You have too much hand to fold though.

Re: Huge, Huge, Huge pot early in the Stuper, Pair+FD
Nate, I don't think position in what is going to be a huge pot whatever you do plays a big role.
Random thoughts not directed at anyone: in some ways you would like to give the huge stack the illusion of FE, since him shoving draws is good. The only problem is if you flat call, he'll often flat call with hands you'd rather either fold or get all the money in now, so shoving is likely better than flat calling. Steve |
