I don't play tourneys regularly and probably have some major leaks so excuse me if this question is pathetic.
Blinds 25/50. I'm 2nd biggest stack at table w/ 6000t in SB. Villian is CO and third stack with about 5000t. Villian open raises to 175. I raise to 485 with AK. Villian pushes. Standard fold or standard call? I had already looked villian up on pokerdatabase prior and he's a pretty successful tourney regular. |

It's not a standard choice either way, but at this stage seeing as you have no reads, this for me is a fold.

Yea just fold here if you were shorter I would say go for it but this is way too much of a risk.

I probably call the raise.
As played I'm folding. You are rarely ahead and if he know's what he is doing the only way he is pushing 100BB is to try to represent a flip when he has KK-AA. |

I might be misquoting here, but Sklansky says the best way to handle these situations is if your stack is 3x-5x the pot and you can push, it's the optimal way to play AK.
Personal inflection is that most any other way of playing them is overplaying them. |
