[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Bonds is awesome. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Steroids only helped him work out. NOT hit HR's. W/ his work out ethic he woulda broke the record next year clean. So S T F U! (and I'm a Braves fan) |

Re: Beat: Barry Bonds
[ QUOTE ]
A fair number of the pitchers he faced were probably juicers too. So were a lot of hitters who didn't hit hardly any home runs (Randy Velarde.... Alex Sanchez anyone?). He was still among the elite on a decidedly unlevel playing field. That being said, I'm not going to feel the least bit sorry for him in ten years when his heart, liver, and testicles simultaneously explode from all the HGH. beat: heart, liver, and testicles exploding brag: career home run record variance: * [/ QUOTE ] I think this is the best overall post I have ever seen. |

Re: Beat: Barry Bonds
[ QUOTE ]
no one can argue the fact of the type of hitter he was pitchers feared him managers hated to pitch to him was this due to steroids- no it was due to the fact that the man could hit a baseball all over the field and was one of the top 3 hitters all time unarguable did he use roids? probably yes, should that matter 100% no.. he was not the only one nor will he be the last.. what about sosa, what bout mcgwire, what about luis gonzalez, what about palmerio, nothing about those guys, the man simply put was a machine hitter, yes with steroids came power, but one of the hardest things to do in life is hit a round object with a another round object and put it where you want [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, what about him? |

Re: Beat: Barry Bonds
[ QUOTE ]
I hope he enjoys holding Arod's record for a while. [/ QUOTE ] I said the same thing to my friend tonight and he reminded me that people were saying the same thing about Griffey. Then he fell off the earth in Cinci. A-Rod is the man but its sooooo hard to hold it together for that long. I think A-Rod can do it though. A-Rod just turned 32 like a week and a half ago. He needs 256 just to tie the current record but everyone knows Barry is gonna extend it a little further b4 he retires. Lets assume Barry hits 25 more (not sure if this is a good guess) and finishes his career off with 781. If A-Rod plays till hes 43 (current age of Barry) he will only have to hit 25.6 HR per year. So far in his career he avg. 41. Barry's toast in like between 8-11 yrs as long as A-Rod doesnt suffer any career ending injuries. |

Re: Beat: Barry Bonds
Bonds is the ultimate nightmare scenario for baseball ignoring steroids forever.
He also was a hall of famer with or without them. Baseball's saving grace is he'll likely only hold the record for 5-6 seasons. Until that pussy Arod breaks it. Please throw at him again tomorrow, Toronto. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ya he's got it for sure the only thing that could stop him is him not playing to 43 or him regressing as he gets older, but that never happens. Also just so I don't seem like a hater A-Rod is awesome [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] |
