Who was "The Friend" #2? Dark-haired guy.

[/ QUOTE ]

I met him playing $15-$30 and $30-$60 at the Bellagio in 2003. He doesn't really post on 2+2.

Was anything you saw radically different after editing than before? Did they play or up play down some stuff?

[/ QUOTE ]

They edited a ton of stuff out, but I'm not sure I'd say anything was "radically different." Believe it or not, they seem to have edited the show to bring attention to my (over)use of a couple of words.

I couldnt help noticing a copy of Food's of India book on Ed's dining room table before the makeover. I have this same book, and thought this might be good karma for me.

Ed, if you see this post, what is your favorite recipe from that book? Are you or Elaine interested in Indian food, or is it both of you?

[/ QUOTE ]

We both like Indian food a lot. That's one of my favorite cookbooks... I like making the Punjabi Cabbage and Saag Paneer. We're both veggies, so Indian food is perfect for us.

[/ QUOTE ]

The homemade saag paneer is absolutely delicious. Edward and Elaine let me take home the leftovers. What a treat!

Hey Ed...

I was deployed with the Pennsylvania National Guard down to Louisiana after Katrina and through Rita.

We were based in Hammond and then did distribution points at Cavenaugh Park (I can't remember that name exactly), Franklinton, Bogalusa, Sulfur, and a few other places. It has been so long that I forget now. I never got to go into New Orleans.

First off, those lovebugs suck!!! How can you deal with those?

Secondly, I didn't know you lived down there.

Thirdly, I saw a lot of that destruction and I wish the best for you and your family.

Fourthly, I forget the rest of what I wanted to say.

[/ QUOTE ]

Cool.. thanks so much to you and everyone else who helped out the gulf coast.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would like to add my thanks as well. New Orleans still needs all the help it can get. My thanks go not only to the National Guard (who just returned to NO) and the Coast Guard, but also to the volunteers who are still coming down to help. My home was just cleaned out and gutted by good folks from the Jewish Federation and Operation Noah of the Southern Baptists.

Italian FX, where in Pennsylvania are you from? I grew up in Reading and went to university in Philadelphia. BTW Fabber Carson is from Allentown. Pennsylvanians in exile....

For locals, there is a story on the show and the party on the front page of the Green Valley News. Ed's picture is on the cover, below the fold. The story is also in the Henderson Home News and the South Valley News. It's not online, unfortunately. The paper is a free weekly available at various restaurants and retail stores around the Henderson area.

Have you felt any effects of fame yet? Has anyone recognized you not as the 2+2 author but rather as the "Straight Guy?"

I mean when I met him he gave all 9 people at the table 2 fantastics. THAT WAS 18 FANTASTICS!!

[/ QUOTE ]

It sounded to me like they had him cut back on them a little.
