Default Inflation\'s effect on Poker Limits

I just read a post that alluded to this, and I've been wondering about it for awhile now, does inflation affect the limits casinos offer?

I'm sure it does to some extent but in say 10 years will casinos stop offering 2/4 limit because they can't make enough off of it.

Did casinos use to offer 1/2 limit in the past? If so, how long ago?

I'd find any other thoughts on this interesting.
