i think you got it wrong because you shoved with AJ and AQ and you are pretty much only getting called by hands that beat you. im sure you know this, so why come on here and complain when it happens? If you are going to play a high varience game then accept the varience

the QQ hands i dont mind, i rarely fold QQ pf short handed.

..and since it's MSNL and you're supposed to call everybody you disagree with retarded I think you are pretty retarded

U have no idea what stakes I play and you have no class, which seems to be par for the course at the tables lately.

I wrote out a lengthier response but it got lost. The gist is that I think you are better off seeing flops and playing postflop. Your preflop play tends to fold out worse hands and get called by better. When u see flops u then have the advantage of figuring out what the other player likely has and what you think he thinks u have. U also get to figure out your equity much better.

I think the aj hand is horrible and will only be called by hands that dominate u or by premium pairs.

In any case I've see a rash of very aggressive play at the tables lately and can only surmise that lots of folks are watching too many videos and only hope that more folks get memberships.

Of course the AJs hand only gets called by stronger hands. The whole point of the 4bet shove is that he folds quite often and you have decent equity when called. If he 3bets light enough the shove is +EV. Wether a call or a push is better is very opponent dependent.

Anyway, I think the key problem is that I am possibly overestimating the times people are playing back at me light and I just assume they would 3bet me light as I would 3bet them light without waiting for enough hands shown down to know that for sure. So fishfather has a good point there.

Still, fishfather, do you disagree with any points of my updated thinking that I provided above (the "On reflection:") part?

You do realize you're allowed to call 3-bets? Good god, I don't see why you're so eager to guarantee losing the max against all better hands.

[/ QUOTE ]

Losing the max would be calling the 3-bets, then when you get a bad flop and are drawing dead (or as thin as possible), trying to bluff them out and running into top pair+. I know because I do this all the time.
