Very upsetting.

[/ QUOTE ]
Why? When is the last time you thought about Brad Delp?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's human nature to feel some sort of emotion when somebody who has changed your life in the slightest of ways passes away. No, nobody KNEW Brad Delp or really cared for him, but hearing this makes people feel sad.

Banks,

You sound like an ass!

I'm gonna go play some more than a feeling on guitar hero right now as a tribute.

Of course it natural to feel some emotion. Anytime a human being dies its sad. But you see it all the time when a celebrity or semi-famous person dies that its a "tragedy" or "very upsetting". I find it a bit disigenuous. I was asking the poster why it was "very upsetting". Did he know him or was there a special reason.

I read this in one of the articles about his death and thought, assuming your question is a serious one, that it answered it better than I (a 40-year-old has been/never was) could:

[ QUOTE ]
Some people never tire of any of it, I realize, and for them, this is a case of one of the voices of their youth dying. Brad Delp was certainly never a rock god like Robert Plant; he wasn’t even Steve Perry, really, in terms of stature. But he was every bit as popular at a certain time in pop music history. His voice became a major element of the soundtrack to millions of people’s lives - and at a very specific time in their lives.

For reasons that are beyond me, EE Times posted an unflattering obit for Brad Delp

I guess since one of the Boston founders was an MIT graduate it makes Delp fair game. Overall though it was a really, really weird place to talk about Brad Delp.

I agree with banks. Who cares if celebrities who don't put out anything good anymore die.

Playing for a week in Rhode Island
Man came to the stage one night
He smoked a big cigar
Drove a Cadillac car
And said, "Boys, I think this band's outta siiiiiiiiiiiight"

This was my favorite band when I was in high school and college.

Now you're climbing to the top of the company ladder
Hope it doesn't take too long
Can't you see there'll come a day when it won't matter
Come a day when you'll be gone

I understand about indecision
I don't care if I get behind
People living in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind

R.I.P. Brad Delp.
