fold 88 snap TT [/ QUOTE ] Why, because you looked at results and saw villain had a 9 in his hand? |

I learned the hard way yesterday. mental note fold [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] fold 88 snap TT [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Many of the things that are allowed in LSMTTs aren't going to be allowed here in HSMTTs. Please refrain from using short answers or saying call/fold/raise. Also, avoid saying things like "I agree with XXXXX". Put down your reasons for agreeing or disagreeing and try to add something. I think here you're almost always going to see either 1)the As 2)one pair so you're occasionally flipping (if he has another over), occasionally 60/40, and occasionally like 3:1 or something. So I call. In one of these, though, this is good enough. [/ QUOTE ] Agree. |

Re: 88 on 732 monochrome flop BvB and opponent overbet pushes
couldn't the villain already have a made crappy flush
with this push? i'm thinking his all-in is to protect against a higher one-spade-to-go flush draw... ( and of course, really hoping for a fold... ) |

Re: 88 on 732 monochrome flop BvB and opponent overbet pushes
Yeh, I think a flush or a set are possible. Two pair or an overpair are real unlikely. Villain could have a 7 or a lower pp. Usually he has a flush draw. Overall, you are ahead of pot odds versus his weighted range.

Re: 88 on 732 monochrome flop BvB and opponent overbet pushes
900 in the pot and he bets 5K. Not even worth the risk. It's like calling a huge overbet with a straight on the board, it's just not worth it.

Re: 88 on 732 monochrome flop BvB and opponent overbet pushes
Villain absolutely never does this with a flush, or a set, and can't have two pair.
So what you normally get is like Ks7x, As7x, or a 15 outer. Looks like you have to call if only slightly. |
