From what I have read on here, 1/2 live is comparable to .10/.25 (25NL) online. Just expect larger preflop raises live than online with regards to the BB.

If you jump into 1/2 online and are not a seasoned player, you will lose a lot of money.

Also, I'm assuming you are talking about NL?

Id start at 50nl and move up aggressively

1/2 in the casino is much much softer than 1/2 online. like a totally different game.

Pretty spot on.

1/2 live is a pretty easy game. 1/2 online is much tougher. Depending on your bankroll, I'd start at $0.10/$0.25 or $0.25/$0.50 and test the waters. If you see yourself being successful, then move up to $0.50/$1.

I'd put 1/2 live at a roughly equivalent level of the $0.05/$0.10 online. Seriously. I think the $0.10/$0.25 game online is actually substantially tougher (meaning, it requires 10 functioning brain cells as opposed to 3). As for 1/2 live vs. 1/2 online, there's no comparison.

At 1/2 live you're not going to run into many players of a caliber good enough to make their living playing poker. Online, the 1/2 games attract a great many people that can make a comfortable living (usually involving aggressive multi-tabling). There are still fish, but they're not nearly as abundant.

remember, at many casinos 1/2 is the lowest limit offered, and therefore attracts some of the worst players. also, when players are good online, they tend to multitable, while live, they just move up. both of these facts contribute to live being sososososo much easier than online
