Default NL25 Is he stealing this pot from me?

Villian was 20/5/8 (82 hands), why does he make this move, should I not have bet that river, or does he think I am stealing and is willing to risk his whole stack here?

[/ QUOTE ]Sometimes but more often these are big hands meant to look like a steal. Unless you have a specific read he does this with air, I just make a note that he may steal with a push in a neglected pot and move on.

played 82 hands with him, nothing spectacular, or out of the ordinary. I dont get his check on turn AND river.
looked trough some hands of him, and he seems very passive, i doubt if his AF is correct. He folds against 3bets, he limps and folds if raised.

If you look at this hand through the villians eyes you see this...

*PREFLOP*
Fold to the you (button) who raises to 1.00. SB interpets this standard button play, as you could be playing any two.

*FLOP*
SB checks. You bet less than the pot. SB reads this as a standard continuation bet, and calls.

*TURN*
SB Checks. You check. SB probably is thinking that your flop bet now was a continuation bet.

*RIVER*
SB checks. You bet less than half the pot. SB realiazes that the 3 probably didn't help your hand and your bet was small enough to where your not really projecting much strength and decides that your full of it and repops you.

*MY ANALYSIS*
I defitnitly bet the turn here, if SB calls and than leads out at the River with a big bet, than your probably beat. He if he calls the turn bet and checks the river, I would just check behind on the river(barring any reads from previous play). Such a massive overbet, looks like he had air, but at those stakes you never can tell. I doubt that he had 77, I just don't think people are that tricky at 25NL to be laying this kind of trap. He would just led out at the river with his set, and hoped you called.

Nah, this is pretty standard stuff checking the turn to induce bluffs/calls on the river. I would probably bet a little more on the river though 3-4$ range, but other than that this is pretty straightforward.

Oh and yes you fold this, this you are looking at 77/KT here alot.

Let him have it. He's either a real donk that you'll stack later when he keeps doing this or he's got you beat and he saved you money by making your decision to fold an easy one.

If SB is willing to risk his whole stack here on a bluff, you'll find another spot to take it from him.

Your play was standard except for river bet - make it closer to 2/3rds pot.
