Re: I act like a jerk again
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If they are going to take $10 from the pot winner then the dealer should physically hold the money back before pushing the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Really, what's the difference other than semantics? b [/ QUOTE ] Because this jerk wants the dealer to physically prevent him from being a jerk. It's like an alcoholic ordering a drink then when it arrives being pissed at the waiter for serving him. |

Re: I act like a jerk again
i am also a tight nit that has argued over the posting the kill blind, at my local room they say they cant force me to play so i have left many times on my kill pot with no trouble leaving or the next time i play.

Re: I act like a jerk again
(1) You were a jerk.
(2) Being forced to post the kill is standard. The fact that it is not "posted" and you were not aware of it doesn't change the rule. Is it "posted" that three of a kind beat two pair? (2) You screwed yourself out of the rest of your poker evening. (3) If it was a small enough place, you could have screwed yourself out of future play as well. |

Re: I act like a jerk again
I kind of agree with the jerk about being forced to post the kill blind. I understand that it's "standard" and understood that you are to post it, but if that's the case, then why doesn't the dealer just withhold the kill for the next pot? They give you the pot which in all other instances in poker is considered your money, then they want to force you to pay the kill.
Yeah it's standard, but why not just change the rules so that kill game players understand for sure that they are forfeiting a few bucks from the pot when they get the kill button? |

Re: I act like a jerk again
They would still need to put the money in front of you. The kill money is live. It doesn't go straight into the pot.

Re: I act like a jerk again
This is an unethical move but you can leave when you choose. They can't force you to play your kill.
I have seen this situation many times. Everytime the floor is called they will just state that they cant force the kill to be put in the pot and it is the players option to leave. Again, very unethical though. |

Re: I act like a jerk again
I have enevr played a kill game, but I assumed you pay the kill after winning two consecutive pots ?
I also assumed it was like a blind, so if you racked up and left, you would not be forced to pay it ? Reading the OP, I felt like he had left before paying his BB, ie no problem. But the sentiment in the thread is very different. |

Re: I act like a jerk again
my confusion: i thought kills were played like blinds...
if you get up and leave before the cards are dealt, even though the button was moved to you, are you obliged to post the blind? I'm hoping that kills are treated differently than blinds... |
