With implied odds, you can basically play that for set value alone, which isn't too tough to do. |

[/ QUOTE ] You know I'm the small blind in the first hand right? 5.5:1.5 in hand 1 and 8.5:2 in hand 2 if the limper folds and the passive button calls. Why wouldn't I have the the implied odds in hand 2 if I do in hand 1? |

Why wouldn't I have the the implied odds in hand 2 if I do in hand 1? [/ QUOTE ] I think of a few things. First, you're closing the action in hand 1. In hand 2, the button could cap which would suck. Also, your relative position in hand 2 isn't as good. If the SB leads out, you get to call and slowplay or possibly face people with two bets, while in hand 1, if you check/raise the flop, you could possibly trap the cold caller, which he may not have a problem calling. I'm not saying I hate a call in hand 2, I just prefer a fold. If however you have a read saying the limper is gonna call and see a flop, I think it's much closer and a call may be better. |
