Is he trying to keep discussion of problems private, and out of ATF?

Is he saying that the normal moderators are not resolving things well enough, so he has to do it himself?

Why are issues not being "quickly resolved" when we have dozens of moderators hanging around?

You're being a bit paranoid IMO. The reason for the sticky is that some of us like to joke around in this forum, but when someone posts a serious question they really do deserve a serious answer. Most OPs probably don't spend any time in this forum aside from asking a question, so can be puzzled/misled by some of the responses. It appears that Mat enjoys the tone of the forum but also would prefer that people who are asking for help actually get it.

Otherwise this forum would become filled with high value helpful replies to serious questions. That would quickly overwhelm the generally not so useful but highly amusing posts that we all know and love. Mat is acting decisively to head off such a travesty.
