Re: QQ, gimme some lines along the way
I like eagles' response, however, the consensus appears to be 40.
So now heres the funny (and somewhat interesting) part: #1 Pokerstars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) BTN ($447.80) SB ($618.25) BB ($2100.95) Hero ($400) MP ($562.85) CO ($771.60) Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises to $14, 1 fold, CO calls, BTN calls, 2 fold. Flop: ($48) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $40, 1 fold, BTN raises to $129, Hero ? #2: Pokerstars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) BTN ($447.80) SB ($618.25) BB ($2100.95) Hero ($400) MP ($562.85) CO ($771.60) Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises to $14, 1 fold, CO calls, BTN calls, 2 fold. Flop: ($48) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $40, CO calls, BTN folds. Turn: ($128) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets? If so, how much. |

Re: QQ, gimme some lines along the way
i think a bet 2/3 of the pot is better on the flop:
with what kind of hands the called your early UTG raise?? exactly high likly with a pocket pair. if the trap you with AA,KK you hear it, if the hit trips you hear it, but if the miss the fold anyway, or call the flop and if you proceed the fold. so you only win if there is a pocket pair between T and 7 who calls you or maybe by a weak player with J-A. 2/3 of the pot gets the job done 28-32 |

Re: QQ, gimme some lines along the way
hand 1) I would most often shove, but i think I like a fold since the board is so dry and this isnt a great spot to bluff for villain.
hand2) I think a c/r is pretty good here. There arent many draws and he may bet his PP or T if you dont follow through. Otherwise just bet and call shove. |

why does tight -> bet more? [/ QUOTE ] i'd guess because if you're tighter your hand range is stronger and if it's stronger you don't mind building larger pots. but if your hand range is weaker in general it benefits you to play smaller pots so when you do have to make tougher decisions (which you must do more often than a tighter player) it isn't for as much money. i doubt this matters much though unless we're talking a massive difference in looseness or tightness. looser players can also avoid playing bigger pots more often by checking more postflop for pot control (or check-folding more often) or raising a smaller amount pf, etc. |
