Default 25NL - River Flush, Facing Overbet

I only played a few orbits with Villain, so I didn't have any real reads yet.
Thoughts on all streets please, but especially the river.
Does he have the straight, trips, or two pair often enough for me call? Or is this a pretty obvious flush?

That's not that big an overbet....it's a little more than pot size. It doesn't matter that he raised to $44...you only have 18.85 so the raise was for that much.

[/ QUOTE ]awesome analysis, nit.

i'd fold here and probably quickly, he knows what you have after calling a 1/3 pot bet and then donking the river for near pot.

Now that my thread is hopefully up to your standards, care to offer any advice on the hand itself?

Well I thought he was basing his fold decision largely on the fact that the guy raised a $4 bet to $44 so I was pointing it out. I don't see why your sarcastic response to what i said was necessary. As far as I think I'd call...and the only hands I think he could have that beat us are QJ and TJ...and I think most players would do this with a lot of J's, and maybe 98 or K9 or less likely but maybe AK.

Haha sorry, rough session tonight I guess.
4 buy-ins in an hour can sometimes feel like a kick in the balls.
Yeah you made a valid point, raise was essentially to ~$23.00, although that is close to twice the pot.

You seem to be leaving out all of the ace- and king-high flush draws in his range. This is a limped pot, remember, and we really can't narrow his range much at all.

I am going to fold this against an unknown opponent. We are behind higher flushed, QJ, JT, 22, Ad?d. I don't see enough hands that we are ahead of here.

I guess I wouldn't really expect most people to bet turn with a flush draw rather than check behind and take a free card.
