I will always take a top notch shortstop that is competent at the plate (which Omar definitely was) for the reason that a shortstop of his caliber will save you roughly one run per game. When you add in his ability to produce runs, I think the scale tips slightly towards his favor.

Hmmm...I still don't think its true. I don't think a top-notch SS saves 1 run per game more than I would. Might be close, though, but compared to ANY major leaguer at any position...no chance.

LOL at saying that Pujols wouldn't be MUCH worse than Michael Young or Jeter at SS, then using A-Rod as evidence why

Seriously, this isn't even close. Pujols would be bad bad compared to the two above.
