Baseball is a team game. if your team doesnt win, i do not think you are valuable enough to win the award unless your stats are so much much greater than anybody else's

As of now, I think David Wright is in the drivers seat, but if Philadelphia (Howard), Milwaukee (Fielder), or St. Louis (Pujols) make the playoffs based on the performance of one of the bats I listed, the debate gets much more heated.

This is entirely self-contradictory. If baseball is such a team game, surely no one player could be valuable enough to ensure victory.
