You probably already said this somewhere and I missed it, but it looks to me like user notes are not coming over in the upgrade. Is that correct?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep.

ryan - I seem to be stuck in EMACs again. odd because last night I was able to return to infopop but when i restarted my computer the skin returned to mobi. I cant find the option you added to change the skin while in mobi, can you help by changing back to the default please? thanks.

This shouldn't happen again with any new installs. I'm betting clearing your cache would solve this if the option wasn't showing.

is there some way of giving everyone a default note that links them back to their 2+2 admin page?

It does suck, but that's kinda just the type of thing I think people have to accept about software ports. In some ways we're lucky to get much of any info ported from software like UBB to vB.

There was some talk of using a script to get all the info into its own page. Not really seeing the usefulness of that at this point, though. It's still going to a different source for the info people would like to have in vB.

That the userids change makes a link like that less feasible to implement. We can try to do all sorts of user name linking, but that's dicey. So for the initial switch it's likely nothing extra will be done with this.

I like that we seem to be able to add Notes on other mods' accounts; and I don't think the subject mod can read them.

We can all meet in Dids' Notebox and talk about him.

LOL.

Ryan or Mike, if you have a minute let me know what my notes say before they get nuked. I want to know whether or not NT! called me a "cockjouster".

Shouldn't be the case. I'll have to remember to adjust those permissions. 2+2 mods are a unique usergroup in our vB install. To get everyone assigned in the import some custom work on impex (the importer) had to be done by Jelsoft types.

That's a pity. A few of us like to meet up in certain readers' Noteboxes for ongoing chats; to pass recipes and the like.

It would have been neat to know that Tuq couldn't troll us if we were having a good time in his Box.

"Favorite Topics" are still going to be lost in the upgrade, right? What about "Post Reminders"?

Do you think there is going to be a huge spam attack due to the software switchover?
