Default Poker rooms tightening up.......regards recent US Arrests...

Couple of things that players have brought to our attention in the last hours

1stly Purple Lounge

[ QUOTE ]
Dear XXX

As you will be aware there are currently several actions being taken in the US against online gaming companies. While this has so far focussed on organizations based outside the untied states involved in taking sports bets from US resident citizens we believe that the current legislation at both a federal and state level is insufficiently clear to allow us to continue taking business from US residents at this time. Further clarifications of the rules governing online poker and casino as opposed to sports betting are required and hopefully when this clarification is in place we will be able to resume taking bets and poker traffic from players based within the United States. Until the existing legislation is clarified, Purple Lounge will no longer take customers, bets or poker rake from any player resident within the United States of America. Any US player who holds a Purple Lounge account with a current balance will be able to withdraw their money over the next 14 days. Please note that this action is not a Prima/Microgaming Network restriction but a decision taken by the Purple Lounge Team alone and applies to Purple Lounge only. We do apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused by this action and we will of course endeavour to keep you sufficiently informed of any change in this policy. Kind Regards Purple Lounge

I got this today from Littlewoods:

It is with regret that Littlewoods Casino and Poker will no longer be transacting with US resident customers. We would like to thank you for your past custom and confirm that any withdrawable monies in your account will be refunded to you.

Should you have any queries, please contact our 24/7 customer support team: support@littlewoodscasino.com or call 1 800 7777 4357.

Best of luck

Add another one to the list. We just received this today:

[ QUOTE ]
Dear customer,

Poker Club Europe will no longer accept customers from the USA

As of September 18, Poker Club Europe will no longer accept customers from the USA. The reason for this decision is the ambiguous legal situation regarding gambling on the Internet in the US, where authorities have taken legal actions against certain gaming companies.

All existing US accounts will be excluded from the gaming modules, and will therefore not be accessible for gambling. However, the accounts will remain open for withdrawal of funds.

All promotions connected to US accounts will be terminated on September 18. In order to benefit from any pending promotional offers, they must be cleared prior to September 18. Also, VIP-points must be used prior to that date or else they will be lost.

With Best Regards,

Poker Club Europe

[/ QUOTE ]

It's odd that none of the arrests so far have been directly related to online poker, yet the poker sites are still showing much concern.

Best Regards,

Justin

At least Poker Club Europe is nice enough to give players a window to withdraw their funds, unlike the ***holes at Littlewoods.
