Any reason for not raising the turn? Villain may have floated and is using the A as a scare card?

On river Villain has control of the hand and looks like he's value betting an A. I really think I would call as played. Hard hand to play without reads though of course.

EDIT: Just observing street by street

i generally try not to assume unknowns are tricky in the way you described. i think he has 2pair+ a lot of the time. he may have been trying to get value from an ace, rather than repping one. also note he c/c'd flop....what Ax hands do that?

I actually see that all the time. I guess reads would really help on this hand though, I probably am thinking too tricky for a readless opponent that just sat down.

As played I am definitely not folding on the river, I think a typical uNL villain might take this line with:

55+,A5s+,A5o+

Against this range you are a favourite by 53-47.

You need only 1/3 or so to break even on a river call. This is a call IMO.

I'd like a turn raise though. Your line looks more like a scared KK or something.

Why raise turn? Your hand has good showdown value and there's no reason to be playing for stacks with TPTK. Also, if you raise, whats your plan if villan pushes? I like the way you played it, but call river. You will see so many trash AX's here.
