Default I-70 or I-40 to Vegas?

Driving to Vegas this weekend, both routes look to be about the same distance (1800 vs 1850 miles), any reason I should pick one or the other? Also if anyone here is throwing some good parties this weekend or just wants to hang PM me.

Yeah, I'm in Nashville, but I'm moving to DC this weekend.

And seriously, you'll regret this once you're past the Mississippi. Especially the Kansas part.

wouldnt it be just as equally expensive to fly as drive 1800 miles plus (presumably at least one night hotel/motel/camp)?...

I'm not ripping the plan of driving tho...i like road trips myself...

Yeah I expect Kansas to suck. But it should be cool once I get to Colorado right?

1800 miles does not require a hotel I dont think. Although I will have a cooler full of Red Bull, and that's about the same price as a cheap motel I guess.

Ive driven from the Utah/CO border to Vegas, and from CA to Kansas, and the most brutal stretch was Kansas. CO can be fun driving up and then down the mountains. A decent chunk of Utah is like western CO, in that its kind of hilly and interesting. Kansas just blows.

Also, try not to break down east of Fallon, NV. Not much there until you get about 300 miles east.

We've driven from Iowa to Vegas a few times without stopping, once was there and back with just 2 people, very doable. I'd go the southern route, the mountains are pretty and all but they're [censored] to drive in.
