Kit, how many hours per week were you putting in anyways? A break might be good for you. A break from any activity that we do so often is often refresing when we come back to the activity after a bit of a break. (That doesn't include boning your skirt obviously)

BTW, as long as your enjoying the fruits of your labor, the Macallan 12 yr old makes for a nice stocking stuffer this holiday season.

Is that both days? Wow, that's a lot. I don't think I've played an 8 hour online session yet this year. Maybe a 6 is the longest one I can remember, but I probably took a taco bell break in the middle.

Yes, yes you should have. Are you still maybe coming here for Christmas? I'm actually going to be out for like 10 days or something insane like that....

By you're going to be "out", you mean off of work? 'Cause that's balla.

It is almost certain that I will get to the gay bay around Christmas. My parents are moving to Texas, so I'm going to actually have Christmas here but I'm planning on being in SF between Christmas and New Year's. And I don't have pesky work commitments. I graduate from college in three weeks, so work isn't an issue until after the first of the year.

I'll be back on the forum tonight. I'm fried right now (I just got home from a FOURTEEN hour session at the Park) and I'm going to try and squeeze in an hour of sleep. Made 30 BB and three or four atrocious river payoffs. Ugh.

So this is my 1,000th post here at 2plus2. I would like to take this 1K post to announce that about a week ago I reached my first 1K BB downswing! Seemed appropriate. Playing SH LHE between 1-2 and 10-20. So, I just joined the 1K BB DS club. How many other regular posters here are members of this illustrious group?

The money lost hasn't really hurt me very much. I guess I was running worse at my lower stakes than my higher ones. Also, I still got stacks of rakeback. I'm happy to say over the last few weeks I've started to run well again and am now part of the way out of the swong.

It's cool to have 1K posts here at 2plus2. Looks like it took me close to a year and a half so it's pretty slow going. I have enjoyed my time here, and this time has certainly improved my winrate and motivation. I have said it before, but I hope to become a more active, better poster around the forums soon.

Yuck! Is that a $1000 downswing or a 1000 BB downswing?

I'm currently working my way out of a 250 BB downswing ($1000 at live 2/4). I started out of the gate at live 2/4 with a 300 BB downswing, that's still my worst.

So my wife gets it. I knew she did but last night it was confirmed by a short phone conversation she had with my Mom. It went somethng like this.

(Mom)"Sounds like Tom is pretty lucky with the poker"

(My Wife)"Well, there is luck involved but Tom knows how to play, when to play and there is also skill and a lot of decisions involved when you play poker. He plays smart and works on it a lot as well"

Me=Internal Fist pumps galore

I spoke with her afterwards and told her how glad I was that she really gets it and also how I am not putting our reg assets at risk at all and how I keep my poker $ completely seperate. She gets that also.

That's awesome, Frond. Congrats! I found that the single easiest way to make my girlfriend understand was to make it clear to her how much time I spent studying and working on it instead of just playing. That and consistently winning of course NH, sir, NH.

Thanks Jesse. Appreciate it man.

I am lucky with my wife. One other thing that helped was that late last year I took her to a joint down here called Pechanga Casino and sat her down in a 2/4 LHE game. It was her very first time playing but I sat down and went over a few basic things with her at home beforehand. She was one of the best players at the table even though it was her first time!!! But she got to see firsthand just how bad some players are. Even though it was only 2/4 she wuickly got the idea. She is also a pretty fair BJ player. I used to play a lot of BJ but once I started playing live Pokah that stopped.

My girlfriend plays Omaha 8, and actually has cashed in more live multi-table tournaments (1) than I have (0). Also, she played in the 5/10 full kill O8 game at the Borg (or was it the Taj?) before I had ever played a limit hand above 9/18. Hmmmm.....
