Default NL10 : flop set, how much to 4bet?

Have generally been betting preflop here but decided to call this time. Obviously my 4bet was too much but not like I have much left anyway.

Given the flush draw am I right to shove? What do you normally bet here?

It's hard to imagine him folding after throwing in half of his stack in the middle. You played fine.

Yeah, I think you gotta shove this. Most villains at this level seem to call any raise after 3 betting, but I think I'm pretty happy to take it down on the flop.

I usually raise it up in this spot too, but I'm wondering if that is a leak with low pockets, especially low pockets in EP. Is it pretty standard to raise this up preflop?

You should be open raising any pocket and a wide range from the CO especially. The majority of this forum will suggest raising pairs from any position.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure I agree with this statement, particularly when you are in EP/MP w/low pocket pairs. I think it also depends on the table as well. For a loose-passive table I think you are setting yourself up for disaster.

As an example, say you are UTG or UTG+1 w/33. You raise 3xbb. At a loose, passive table, you'll get maybe 3 callers plus the big blind. On the flop you're hoping to see a tres, which you'll see in 1 of 9 times. But, if not you are out 3bb at least.

If someone reraises you, can you really call the re-raise? Someone savvy, who reraises an UTG raiser probably has me whooped.

From the CO or hijack position, definitely raise. But from any position??

if you get 3 callers you've got a nice pot in case you hit a set and it's easy to get your money in, if'you don't hit just play c/f.
if you raise and get 3 bet behind you it's obviously a math question, also you won't get 3 bet too light on these levels, so you've generally got a good chance of stacking someone if you hit.

Limping here is pretty bad. What other hands to you plan to limp other than low PPs to balance your strategy?

you become pretty exploitable if this becomes a habit.
