The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
This looks like a sweet satelaite to take down. $1K entry , 1 in 40 win a seat to WPT Poker Open, WPT Winter Open, WPT Poker Finals in Foxwood, and $10K in cash.
Did anyone play in this last year, how many runners were there and how long did it take to finish? |

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
they run these every few months. i played one a year or so back - had about 200 runners. play wasn't very good - a lot of ppl Super'd in. it took like 14+ hrs to finish i think. was a good structure though.

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
Kramer had made a trip report about this from last year, with a crazy chop for the prize:

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
Yeah, the one I played had about 450 runners and took about 12 hours or so to get down to the final table. The problem is, it took another 2 or 3 hours to fill out all the forms and get my packages and cash. All told, I didn't get on the road until about 3am to head back to NYC. Worst drive of my entire life. I spent 2 and a half hours basically dozing off for the entire stretch of highway. I wish they ran these things on Saturdays instead.
But, yeah... it was pretty much the coolest prize package ever and the biggest rush of my life. |

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
Wow that's one complicated deal. Congrats, did you cash in any of the events you played?
Were you allowed to sell any of the seats? For the Foxwood WPT event they do state that the can be transfered but nothing on the Borgata seats. |

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
I played in this last year. Great structure, there were 6 packages when I played and we chopped when we got down to 17 (sort of). People didn't understand how a chop worked and wanted to play it out, yet redistribute the prize pool because they thought it was more advantageous for them to do that then take a chop (the two chipleaders actually believed this, which made absolutely no sense). The tournament was great until the chop negotiations came up. We started the chop talk at midnight with 17 left, we came up with a deal, but somehow I didn't get out of there until 5 am. Then some guy offered to drive me back to NYC, whereupon he stopped at a rest stop 15 minutes into the drive and said he needed to go to sleep, so I'd have to drive. That drive did suck.
I'd heard that they aren't allowing a chop anymore, but I didn't hear this from a borgata employee, so I can't guarantee it's true. Tournament is great, but I'd never play it again if there's a chop allowed. |

Re: The Borgata Ultimate Super Satellite in August
wait for chop-talk to come up. listen to everyone at your table to see who really wants to. then say nope and pound on them constantly
