Default Bad river

20-40 live 9 handed.

Four players limp and I call on the button with 6d6s, BB checks.

The flop: 9d8d6h

The UTG bets, MP1 calls, and I raise, both call

The turn: 9d8d6h9c

Checked to me and I bet and both call.

The river: 9d8d6h9c8h

Checked to MP1 who bets(I have no read) call or fold?

By my count you are getting 10 to 1 to call. You have a full house. I call regardless of my read.

As bad as it looks, some players will bet with just an ace overcard when there are two pair on the board, especially when there is no paint. I think you win this hand more than one time in eleven.

IMO - I think you have to call. Terrible river.

Wow that is a henious river. You have to fold here. You have been repping a huge hand, possibly even a 9 and he still donks into you on the end. You are beat 97.3% of the time.

I think I have to agree here. If you were closing the action, I think calling would be best, but as much as I hate to say it, I think folding might be best, but if you called, I doubt I could fault you for it.

Without a read, I would give your average 20 player credit for an A, 1 in 11.

There are a lot missed draws he could be betting, if he had the 9, wouldn't he raise the turn.

I'd call, but I'd lean heavily on a read here. Could he be bluffing? Would he play his OESD or Flush Draw this way? What does he look like? What was his reaction when the river card fell? How did he put his chips in the pot?

Lay down a boat in a live 20-40 against an unknown for one bet...ummmmm... I have over-called in that spot with A-hi and scooped the pot.

I'm not saying that it's always right to call in that spot, but against unknowns I just fling eight chips in the pot and be done with it. If the last player to act check raises, you can safely fold.

Can MP1 fold an 8 to a raise? This might not be a bad time for FPS. Otherwise just fold.
