Default Compaq/AOL Hijacked My Homepage

Recently ran an update from compaq (which my computer is) and now my homepage is set to:
http://compaq-desktop.aol.com/

Now I can't change it; I go to tools, type in www.yahoo.com or whatever and no dice, goes back to other one. What do i do?

thanks,

go to yahoo

open tool > internet options > general > under homepage select "Use Current" and apply " ok. close IE and reopen and see if it works. if not, search your add/remove programs for this Compaq AOL thing and remove it.

Yeah, it sounds like there's still something living in your machine. I wouldn't know which process to kill, but it sounds like you've got somethin'.

edit: Btw, this guy has the same issue.
