Default A small bright spot in the midst of all this legislative crap.

Sorry I've been away gang, but possibly wanted to cheer people up.

I realize the wording is harsh (thanks samo for the text transscribe) but it sure seems to me that any money already in the gaming sites is still in play so to speak. Sure you cant deposit more, but it seems you sure can use whats already in there.

So why not use some strict bankroll adjustments to use what is already in the site and build it up to a point where you no longer need to deposit. I assume you can still withdrawl.

So before anyone goes jumping out of windows, just try to keep that one fact in mind. Great to be back gang and you'll hear more from me.

Cheers,

Bunky

You do realise the problem is not the winning players right?

I don't know anything about anything, but you are missing the point.

I get the point, the easy money from the US is gone for the most part, but there is a lot of soft money coming in from Canada and Europe. The one thing I know is a lot of the small time barely eeking out a living pros are going to go busto or have to find a job, the really good players should still be alright. Albeit not as good as it once was.

better than jumping off the bridge and yelling the sky is falling.

Yeah the bill sucks, better get used to it and make adjustments. Can't change whats happened but you can move forward.

...you can probably still deposit money. You couldn't deposit money from credit cards anyway, you'd just use firepay or something.

I predict it's going to cut all our winrates by about half.

One consequence of this bill will be tens of thousands of US low to mid limit grinders no longer being able to do so.

While it won't completely offset the loss of fish, not even close, it will definitely offset some of the decrease of fish.

In all of the posts nobody has really discussed the effect that low/mid semi pro players continually moving up have on the current poker system.

But if you think back a couple of years, the games are much, much tougher, that effect will decrease to an extent. Not by the best players, but by the sheer volume of mid level skill grinders (rocks).

Regarding fish making deposits, more than two years ago when credit card companies prohibited deposits to online gaming sites, and before Neteller really took hold, you could purchase phone cards and the like, then use the phone cards as cash to deposit into the poker sites.

The same thing is, and always will be possible. It is completely impossible for any bank to prevent this from happening.

As soon as your bank blocked a particular form of payment, another one would pop up literally over night, even within hours.

True the phone cards or whatever the option is will now be defined as "illegal", however, software hacks and copywritten file sharing have been illegal for years, yet millions of people continue to do it, few are ever caught and prosecuted.

And here I was thinking you'd be absolutely shattered if you only made 50k a month.
