ArcticKnight,

Pretty good points IMO, but you're fighting an uphill battle. A lot of people prefer the tradition, the fact that the seemingly underdog Europeans keep defying logic time and again. Plus their chemistry and energy is way more fun to witness than the stodgy President's Cup squad.

It's like dogs and cats, people seem forced to pick one or the other. Why can't I like both? So I choose to like these both for what they are. Tomorrow I'm golfing 36 holes so I'm bummed to be missing it, but I'll be recording all ten hours or whatever and really look forward to watching it when I get home.

36 holes. I'm jealous.....I won't be golfing again til April..

I kind of like the Ryder Cup. I know there is too much patriotic "rah-rah" going on and it's really just an exhibition, but I like seeing these guys under the ultimate pressure. I mean, do you think you'll ever see Mark Calcavecchia openly weeping after a President's Cup match?

The President's cup has produced much better golf matches than the Ryder Cup of late.

How about Justin Lenord vs Jose Maria? Or does that not qualify as recent?

Your other points are well taken. The RC should incorporate some of those rules.

The PC will become more popular when the rest of the world guys win a few of these in a row.

I remember a lot of critical shots/matches from the Ryder Cup, but I don't remember any from the President's Cup (until Woody got dunked) except for Freddie hitting a 3000 footer on 18 years back.

For some of you who posted in the Tour Championship thread, nobody, NOBODY should EVER question Woody's heart or integrity.

That was simply great to watch no matter which team you are rooting for.

I'll continue to question his integrity.

I can't believe I got sucked into watching this instead of football.

Were they using a Canadian-sized cup or something? So many shots going in from everywhere.
