Sure. If you send $10 for tier 1 only, and you finish in one of the paying spots (the number of spots that pays depends on the number of entrants) you win that amount of money from the "tier 1" prize pool.

If you enter in "tier's 2 and/or 3" you are only competing against those who also enter in those tiers for that prize pool.

So, you could lose in tier's 1 and 2, but win in tier 3 if you have the most points of those entered in that tier. Also, if you enter all three, you can win ALL THREE! So whichever tiers you enter are the tiers you are playing for. However, you can't just enter in tier 3 alone. To enter in tier three you have to enter in both tier's 1 and 2.

Does that make any sense?
