Default Bill Chen\'s Mathematics of Poker

I keep hearing about this book and it sounds like its really good. Does anybody know if its out or when it is coming out? I've been hearing about it for almost a year now.

About a month ago a friend of mine was reading/ editing an advanced copy. So it looks like the final publication date is pretty close.

They will be nothing alike at all. I can't imagine there are any similarities except that Chen's book may show you how to calculate EV, and Yao's does that too.

My understanding is that Chen's book is essentially THE math textbook for poker. This is not going to be a book for the masses. I'm expecting calculus, algebra, and statistics - all at the college level.

I may be wrong though, but that is my understanding.

based on that description I am expecting something closer to Peter Griffin's Theory of Blackjack (which is pretty math intense).

I don't know anything about Blackjack but I am really looking forward to Chen's book.

No. I haven't seen Petriv's book, but my understanding is that it isn't real heavy on game theory.

Any reviews or thoughts on Petriv's book you would care to share?

I've heard of this book and it sounds somewhat interesting as well.
