You can't protect on the flop, so nice call. Turn and river play themselves. Nice hand.

I think it's quite closer than meets the eye.

Can someone explain why a river bet here is unfavorable?

It looks like villian, esp. 2/4 party poker villian, would call with a lower pair with a diamond, or a weaker nine- after all, he was in the BB- isn't that a good case for a v-bet?

I would raise preflop in certain games, not in others.

Flop/turn play is good.

River play is a bet and it's not close.

I agree - if villan has
a draw - folds
mid or bot pair on flop - fold / maybe sometimes call

flush - raise / call (depending on how hi and villan)
or
likes to bluff here - raises - will you call 2 now?

thin value here too many will fold worse and only call / raise better.

Nice hand. I'd raise PF if CO is a fish and the blinds are tight enough to make it likely you get heads up, otherwise I like a limp.

River is a thin value bet.
