Between movies, Internet and games the PSP is the easy choice for me. If your swayed by the 384th installment of Mario then i guess go for the DS.

The PSP plays games?

DS, and it's not even close.

Also, DS will only play DS games and gameboy advance games. games from the gameboy color generation and before are not compatible.

Are you sure it's compatible with original Gameboy games? I know that GBA is of course, but I thought I'd heard that SP and DS are not...the cartridges don't fit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... I assumed that because it fit GBA games, and the GBA was backwards compatible that it had to be. Looks like I spoke too soon, though - it appears that it does *not* play gameboy and gameboy color games.

I have both, I'm keeping the DS, the PSP is going on ebay . . . .

Same here. I only ever play 1 or 2 games on PSP and even then only when my DS battery is dead which is rare. I've seen the DS last weeks of infrequent usage. PSP lasts about 1/3 as long.

BTW both the DS and PSP are great for long bathroom breaks. Sure beats reading a stupid magazine.

Exactly. If you're desperate for GB or GBC games you can get a GBC for like $15 now a days.

I have the PSP and voted DS. I really don't play it much and find it to be a waste of money. The games I have are Wipeout Pure, Madden, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

By the way, if given another chance, I wouldn't buy either system. I would spend it towards the Wii or another new generation console.

DS and it's not even close. I'd probably take an old brickstyle Gameboy over a PSP, as I can think of games I would play. PSP can do some crazy stuff, what it can't do is crank out a playable game.

There are a lot of good DS games out and a [censored] of great GBA games you can play on it as well.

Suprised you're not considering the N-Gage if you're actually considering paying for a PSP.

DS.
