that's a pretty dicey call against some with a PFR 9 (who most likely raises according to position)

since you did play it - the 3bet is an insta fold ... you've already put 2bets in; calling now because the pot is 14bet is garbage (you wont make enough back to make this correct)

3 bet preflop. his range is more than just big pairs. I'd say AKs-A10s, AKo-AJo, KQs and 99+. Maybe you could scarp the lower end of that (eg A10s or 99) but PFR of 9 isnt that nitty even though his VPIP is low. Whether he caps or calls your 3 bet will basically tell you if he has a bigger pair or big cards.

that seems way too loose from utg for a 9 ... i generally assume 5% opening from a guy like this

... OP - what is villian's steal%

3bet PF, if it's capped you've got a better idea of opponents range. flop bet/3bet isn't too bad. turn fold seems reasonable.

I would 3-bet preflop for value because you've got a coldcaller in the middle and I would like to see this flop 3-handed (plus the bonus information of getting capped is helpful).

If there were two coldcallers (or a limper and a coldcaller), then I'm more inclined to coldcall because I want to see a 5-6 handed pot with my pocket pair to play for a set and a big pot.
