Tom, are you still upset about the Kansas St game? At least Baylor took it to em since the Horns couldnt. Sorry, I couldnt resist.

I dont think the SEC will win out in their bowl games this year but I dont think it will be such a romp as you are suggesting.

[/ QUOTE ]
Take a look at my avatar. I was thrilled about that game.

An amusing thing would have been to have Michigan/LSU, OSU/Florida, and Wisconsin/Arkansas. Kind of like the Big 10/ACC challenge in basketball.

I think that would make college football a ton more interesting. Force the Big Conferences to play somewhat decent teams out of conference (OSU/Texas, USC/Arkansas, etc)

Why would they agree? All you need to do is schedule East Carolina then cry to the pollsters if you are #4, and you are in!

It'll never happen, just like the bowl system will never go away.

well...you disagree with the market
assuming it is effecient (big if)
Florida v Ohio State- +7.5 loss
Arkansas v Wisconsin- -2.5 big Win
LSU v Notre Dame- -8.5 ridiculously huge win
Tennessee v Penn State- -6 blowout Win
Auburn v Nebraska- -3 blowout Win
Georgia v V Tech- +3 loss
Kentucky v Clemson- +11 loss
Alabama v Oklahoma St- +3.5 prolly a loss
South Carolina v Houston- -7 win

5-4 winning lots of the marquee match-ups doesn't look too shabby

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, and I think Florida will actually beat Ohio St, but I will get roasted for that comment.

edit: there are 4 pretty much guaranteed victories for the SEC with Auburn, UT, LSU, and, and SC. Also, Alabama, Georgia and Florida have chances at victory and I would think the SEC actually wins one of those games, so O/U on SEC victories would be 5.5

why the hell are georgia/kentucky/sc even in bowl games?

How do you leave Alabama out of that sentence since they have a worse record than all 3 of those teams?

'Cause they won 6 games in the toughest conference in the history of sports and are bowl eligible because of that?

I do not see PSU beating Tennessee, but I can dream.

So does the NCAA. They must have their mouth watering over the fact that Rutgers is doing well this year. NCAA needs teams like PSU/Syracuse/Rutgers to do well. Those three teams dominate the NY market and not having it I think is really pissing off the NCAA. Trust me, NCAA wants PSU to beat UT.

Florida vs. Ohio State - loss
Arkansas vs. Wisconsin - loss
LSU v. Notre Dame - win
Tennessee vs. Penn State - tossup
Auburn vs. Nebraska - loss (close)
Georgia vs. Virginia Tech - loss
Kentucky vs. Clemson - loss
Alabama vs. Oklahoma St. - toss up
South Carolina vs. Houston - win

Might be a tough bowl season for the World's Greatest Conference

[/ QUOTE ]

You're kidding right? Wisconsin and Arkansas is a freaking toss-up. Wisconsin's schedule was terribly pansy, so the 11-1 record is quite misleading. All of these games, minus Florida-Ohio State are TOSS UPS! Even Houston has a good shot of beating S. Carolina. I know a hell of a lot more about the SEC than you do (and I know you more about the B10 than I do) and I'm thinking the SEC probably wins 5 of 9.
