I don't want anything to do with Ramsey.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nor do I but from all accounts in the papers thats the direction the Jets look to be moving towards. We'll see.

Stolen from a Jets message board that I lurk at. WFAN is reporting an UNCONFIRMED, repeat: UNCONFIRMED rumor that the Jets and Skins worked out a deal:

Skins get:
Abraham

Jets get:
Ramsey
Skins 2006 2nd Round
Skins 2007 1st Round

This would be a great deal for the Jets even if the Skins are really good next year. It's almost too good to be true, which is also why I'm not believing it.

there's absoultely no wa......oh, nevermind, it's the redskins. done deal.

They announced on SC that the Jets are offering a 7th rounder for Ramsey and the skins want a 4th rounder.

A 7th is too much.

I'd rather have Brooks Bollinger, who you have, for instance.

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Detroit Lions have signed free agent QB Josh McCown (Cardinals) to a two-year contract worth $6 million. The deal will pay him $4 million in 2006 between his signing bonus and base salary.

McCown and Kitna now in Detroit. Harrington is sure to be released.

What were the Skins thinking with Ramsey? Everyone knows they need to get rid of him now that they signed Collins. What a screw up, everyone knows they have no leverage now. Just like everyone knew the Jets had no leverage with Herm.

Do they really expect someone to give up more than a 7th round pick for him now? Morans.

My gut feeling is that the Falcons don't trade Schaub.

Any guesses where Frerotte, Harrington go now?

The Vikings need an experienced back-up QB until they can find a wonder-kid and train him. Frerotte was with the Vikings before, and could probably do the job.

I'm not sure about Harrington. I'm not that familiar with the Arena League teams.

I'm not a Falcons fan or anything, but I think this whole Matt Schaub thing is interesting ...

They can either trade him now and get something of value for him, tender him [edit: next year] as a restricted FA and get draft pick compensation for him, pay him a ton and lock him up next year (which he won't do without the starting job), or lose him and get nothing in return.

If I'm the Falcons, there is absolutely no way I'm trading Schaub and a 2 for Abraham. I maybe settle on Schaub and a 6, or I'd just tender him next year and bank on getting someone else to pony up the compensation. If I'm not mistaken, they'd either get a 1 or a 1 and a 3 from anyone who signs him next year based on the value of the Falcons tender offer.

A 6? As in a 6th round pick? Umm, John Abraham is a pro-bowl defensive end, one of the best pass rushers in the league. He's not the most versatile guy, but his run defense has improved and he's going to get you 10-12 sacks/year, plus whatever value you put on every passing down double teams. I think with Kerney, that would be a lot of effing value. I think Schaub has a lot of value too, but him plus a 6th is ludicrous. You're talking about a three-time pro-bowler at end and a unproven back-up quarterback. What the hell was that guy's name, from Jaxsonville, went to Buffalo, sucked a lot? Really I can't remember, but right now Schaub is him.

I think they're talking about Abe + 4th for Schaub + 2nd.
