Default Can you Stop \'n\' Go two people?

Converter doesn't work for me, sorry. I don't have any reads either

$50, Stars, 36 paid, 28 left

Blinds 400/800/50

Skjonne, Our Hero is BB with 88 and 7.7K chips

All fold to MP (25K) who raises to 2.4K
CO with 16K calls (huh?)

Folded to yours truly who does what and why?

You need to shove and hope the 1st guy isolates. Your hand is too good and there is too good an overlay to consider folding, and you want to be heads up.

with no reads shove to hopefully isolate and take the positive side of the coinflip. Hope that the smooth caller didn't have AA / KK but absent reads that they like to do so, you're probably not getting away here.

Also the MP might fold to your push, concerned about the CO's smooth call behind.

in short answer to your question, sure you can stop and go two people, but you generally don't want to do so.

the more people see the flop the more likely you're going to let at least one of them make a correct decision on the flop. Rarely are you going to get a hand you beat to fold on the flop when you stop-and-go here, because odds are if one opponent holds an overpair to yours the only thing they're folding to are overcards which will likely hit the other opponent.

A lot of assumptions there

With your stack size, your best choice is pushing preflop. A stop and go would have about 8000 in the pot, and you with about 5000 behind. I doubt both villans fold here a good %age of the time.

Agreed. Push this preflop. Don't get cute here. Not pushing is FPS. If you just call, you aren't going to like the flop unless it's all low stuff or has an 8 in it.

No question, i could have elaborated.

I'm advocating no SnG here because I believe the only hands that are going to fold to a SnG (that you're going to want to fold) are 99, TT, possibly a weakly played JJ/QQ if A/K hits. The very miniscule odds that both players are on this hand range exactly and both will fold to a stop-and-go when overcards flop is outweighed, in my opinion, by the negative value of taking 88 to the flop three ways.

Thus, better to shove now and hope to isolate the MP raiser OR isolate the CO via a sandwich on the MP.

and there's also the possibility you take this down preflop which is not a bad result either.

I also didn't elaborate much on the underlying "cold caller often advertises a really big hand" but felt that was assumed in my original line of "but absent reads..."

Just wondering why this late in the game you don't have reads on the other players? If there are 28 left than you have been at this table for a bit. They break at 36 and 27.

Thanks for the answers guys

Well i did push, MP folded but CO, getting 5:2 called correctly with A9s and just as correctly turned a 9.

I'm not result orientated but on the flop of J rag rag maybe I could've bought it, so it got me thinking

If #36 and #35 go out on the same table, they have to move a player from another table ya see?

So instead of one opponent seeing five cards, you have two opponents seeing three cards? Now you're not to know that MP is stealing and will fold if he misses but assuming he does miss, is CO getting the odds to call with his overcard?
