Re: 25NL: Rivered straight on flushy board
I can't see folding a straight for $3.50 in a $15 pot, when 9x makes a worse straight.

Re: 25NL: Rivered straight on flushy board
Chargers: Table had been pretty loose pre-flop and pretty weak postflop, with 3 or 4 people calling and then folding to small flop bets (1/2 to 2/3 of the pot).
I bet out on the turn figuring that the heart draw got there, and should be scary for anyone not on that draw. If they DO have the flush, they'd raise unless they had high hearts which were probably raising preflop (unless they're on Ah-xh. Without specific reads, I admittedly (and probably incorrectly) project myself into villain's shoes and think about how I'd react to board and betting. When villain called turn, but raised river, I read him for 2 pair or maybe the worse straight and maybe the flush, and the odds suckered me in. Mike, I will take this to heart. I'm getting better at avoiding situations like this when I'm in the blinds in limped pots. This will definitely lend to that. Chop: I was thinking this too and it was hard for me to get away from the 4.5-1 odds I was looking at. |

I don't think I can find a fold there either but I would definitely want to.
