Horrible ban theater

Cargo got timed out for this, which seems an awfully lot like Katy taking things personally. I know it's the lounge, but what he did wasn't nearly that bad, and he even qualified his statement.

he was warned by me and Katy about this, and continued. Katy talked to me about this before proceeding, and toned down my own suggestions on this.

He was also derailing the entire thread, and that was part of the reason. I did suggest Katy add this to the notes and reasons, but she felt less comment was better to allow the thread to continue without too much sidetracking.




If you warned someone about behaviour, and they continued, what would you do?

On it's own, no, of course that's not horrible instaban statement. However, Katy had politely asked Cardo to tone down the condescension, and he continued. And what, a 12 hour ban? C'mon guys. This is nothing but a slap on the wrist. I support Katy 100% here.

He's argumentative and distracting, insulting and rude. He plays games. He's purposfully abstruse. Did I say he was condescending? He distracts from nice flowing threads. He derails threads.

He had been talked to by me on the board as well as warned by Carter. He's lucky I didn't give him more.

You guys are aware that this is the internet right? I think this dovetails with your other thread Katy, you need a thicker skin if you're going to do this.

I know exactly how Cardo is, and sometimes it's frustrating, but even in the Lounge I don't think that's ban worthy in the least. He says that to any non-mod and nobody bats an eye.

I realize it's a 12 hour ban, my issue with less with his inability to access 2p2 and just tha I think it's really bad decision making.
