Default NL400 6 max...I felt like I got outplayed when he just called the flop

Hero=460.00 and covers Villian who has ~400. Button covers the table (pretty sure he sucks).

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $2/$4
5 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with :q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero raises to $15</font>, CO calls, Button calls, VILLIAN raises to $34</font>, BB folds, Hero calls, CO calls, Button calls.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($140, 4 players)
SB bets $75</font>, Hero raises to $215</font>, 2 folds, VILLIAN calls.

Turn: :5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($570, 2 players)
VILLIAN checks, Hero?

The previous hand I picked off a bluff from Villian with QQ on an A high flop. He's the type that sees a "check" as a good time to bet 2/3 the pot. However, I think he's somewhat solid. I'm pretty sure he floated me (not sure if I'm using that term right...in other words,he called my CB planning to take the pot away). His call really bothers me. WTF could he have?

He has 179 behind...just put him in and hope for some luck?

Play the flop differently?

If you already decided that raising the flop is what you want to do then I can't see any other option except to put him in.

If you think you're good here, maybe you can risk checking and let him bluff off his stack on the river if he only has $179.

Alternate line -- just make him pay for his flush draw and push him in now...

Against this opponent, though I prefer line #1. You're not considering folding looking at his stack right?

So, villain is SB, right?

This flop bet is very tough to deal with. I mean, most any raise pretty much commits you which sucks if he's got AA/KK/QQ/JJ. But at the same time, just calling when you could very well be ahead puts in a good chunk of chips, and you could be susceptible to a bluff on the turn. meh meh meh... oh well, in the heat of it i'd probably do what you did too.

anyhow, the pot's too big to fold now, and you're only getting a free showdown if you're ahead. push him in and hope he has AsKs (and doesnt get there)

I expect you'll see KK more often than not though, maybe AA or JJ.

i think raising here on the flop is okay...and on the turn theres a lot of money in there...soo just put him in....

@%^$hitty situation....cause ur raise and his call on the flop pretty much leaves u one option...putting more money in...if u check behind him on the turn...hell prolly push the river and u really cant fold getting 4-1 on the river ......or can you??.....i like to see some replies from some of the better players....

-don't call reraises with AQ from up front.

you are prolly only ahead of Ak spades now. check. and fold river against most.
i wonder why villain didnt just push.

But it's soooted, which is always fun. Plus his reraise is small. Also, I have position on him. And I thought he might be pissed about the previous hand where his bluff failed.

So I think calling in this situation is fine.

Well I put him all-in on the turn. He called and had KK. But I hit an A on the river and MHIG.

That's the most expensive beat I've ever dealt. So that's exciting.

Hello.

I think your call PF and raise on the flop narrows your range down greatly and obviously your most likely hand here is AQ.

As you also mention If you caught him with his hands in the jar the hand before I DONT think he will bluff at this pot, especially with 3 people left to act, whereas he MAY if it were heads up just with you.

I like the raise to find out where you're at but when he calls the flop raise I'm pretty sure my hand is no good.
