Default AAj is this avoidable at all?

hands like this are very costly how do you avoid them?

BTN: $2.36

<font color="red">Hero raises to $0.40</font>, CO calls $0.40, BTN folds, SB calls $0.35, BB folds

Flop: ($1.30) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $1.30</font>, CO calls $1.30, SB folds

Turn: ($3.90) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $3.90</font>, CO calls all-in for $2.44

CO has 40BB. The short answer is, you don't.

Check-calling the turn might be better, though.

No it isnīt. Villain will check behind many hands we beat. Hero played this hand well.

For all the ballers, don't read a post and say $4 but say 40bb.

Play is fine. I'm looking to felt this for 40bb.
He will do this with any ace prob.
