Smallville - anyone watch this and care to review?

Yep. I took an extended lunch this afternoon (one of the perks of ownership) and popped the first 3 episodes of season 3 into the DVD player in the staff room. These three episodes were probably better than any in the first 2 seasons so I guess I'll be hanging around a little longer [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Klompy - While it looks as though I'll stick out and probably enjoy Smallville it doesn't even come close to Buffy. In Smallville the acting can be pretty weak at times - especially by the lead actor and the writing is a little forced. I think Buffy was a little meatier and the themes less superficial. Buffy is probably top 10 on my all time list. Smallville is entertaining but not really in the same class.

Never seen Buffy or Angel but I love Smallville, and I actually thought this last season was the best since season 4.

Hate the whole Zod plot.

I like the character of superman for the human factor of it, a super human hanging with regs.

Comparing Buffy to Smallville is like comparing a five-star restaurant to McDonald's....seriously.

That being said, I've watched all seasons of Smallville and it's entertaining enough to watch. Some semi-crappy acting by lead characters (miss Kreuk isn't the best actor in the world, but that's ok), some very good (the Luthors are both excellent imo), some decent storylines and some pretty bad. Personally, I like how the series evolves over time. Worth your time imo.

Girls who watch this show are like 82398473983x more into me when they find out Tom Welling went to my high school. Sadly, these are the type of girls who can't use your and you're correctly, so I never feel like capitalizing.

I heard the dude is like 30+ and is married with kids....kind of weird to be playing a sophmore in college....

I hate the Zod plot but I despise the fricking witch plot whatever season that was....waste of time

- Zod without the Terrence Stamp voice and the catchy lines sucked
- The early season freak of the week format and the witch plot sucked
- Despite Chloe being kinda hefty and never the hottest girl in the show I would still hit that

Smallville in general is the definition of a pretty meh show you can't stop watching. The random comic book character intros and plots just help to heighten the nerdiness. Personally, I hope they end it soon on a reasonably strong note before dragging on the "he's not yet Superman but we've established all of the backstory, established every power except for flight, and introduced every supporting character we can" agony.
