I'm at micro's - 10NL. Just always thought [and wanted] that starting at lowest limits is the ONLY best way to learn the game better and so on. Lately, though, I start to doubt it.

P.S. Although I don't want to say, that I don't respect people, who done that.

If you want more of a challenge just practice bizarro table selection. Sit down at a table at $50NL or $100NL with all 20/16/5 players. They're there (at least at FT) and it sounds like what you're looking for. Maybe get up and leave if a couple of those really tough 46/2/1's show up. You don't need that pressure. If you can beat small stakes, you can beat 25 or 50nl in 2 weeks each if you run okay... If you're not where you want to be yet, it's just cause your not ready I guess

I agree that if you are at all competent, you should not waste time learning at 10NL, and probably roll yourself for 25NL ($400 - 16 buy ins is plenty for 25NL) especially if you have a regular job.

Don't kid yourself though: if you cannot beat 25NL, you will not be able to beat 50NL, and so on...

I guess I will do that. I hope there will be less people, who, for example, do something stupid and then - "oh, it's just a lunch money for me". I understand - for one buy-in I can buy here only good lunch, too [ok, and a couple of beers], but there I want to play and think, not just hope, that my opponent is from Zimbabwe, where ten bucks means something.

I am just sick of feeling, that, when sitting at the table, there's more and more thoughts "will someone outdraw me today", not "ok, let's learn something today".

so go make $1000 working...should take no more then a week...and play 50NL...then when u go busto because $50 is chump change for those people (which it is)...

work for two weeks...make $2000 and go busto at 100NL (again these people piss away $100 like its 10)

then work for a month and go busto at 200NL

before you know it youll be working fulltime and making a cool 52K a year

at the end of the year sit and play aba hu at 200/400

you'll be rich in no time because hes a thinking player and finally you'll be playing someone who isn't an idiot

I completely realize, that jumping up is the thing, that ain't good and not appreciated. That's why I started this thread - to know better.

And I don't want to jump to "how much I can afford", no. I am a regular reader here and pretty much know, how the skill levels drastically [overall] jump along the level of stakes. I was asking about really small stakes and didn't intend to move up without any sense whatsoever.
