A question for the Europeans: Do you guys have a mock American accent you use to make fun of us? It's pretty common for an American to make fun of a British/French whatever accent but I haven't seen any references in film or whatever to how Europeans do this for Americans. Just curious really.

QFT. Girls here are fugly in general.

[/ QUOTE ]

ok I will retract my statement because I realized that I was heavily biased due to their being a heavy influx of really hot 19-21 y/o Ukrainan and Polish girls at my old job. Most being stereotypically blonde and skinny

Nah your accent isn't really comic to us tbh. Southern accents maybe.

I think there are European countries with a far greater style of government than we have here. I don't see how anyone would see the US as politically superior to Europe in general.

Winner takes all elections are the reason for our two party system IMO.

As far as other stereotypes, you guys seem lazier that us. But that is just because of propaganda that is forced down our throats from day one.

[/ QUOTE ]

forced down our throats? why dont you look up some productivity/hours/gnp/vacation stats, and let me know if its "propaganda".

sometimes I just am at a loss at why people cant distinguish between facts, and their pre-conceived bias about all things political. sad.

we don't.

This is what I opened this thread to say. The average American loses about as much sleep worrying about what Germany thinks of us as he does worrying what Senegal thinks.

I think he means how you interpret it as 'laziness' i.e. in a negative light, rather than being beneficial to Euopeans lives in general.

Since most people utilize stereotypes constantly every day, I don't think discussion of this is stupid. The fact that people hide behind their computers on the 'Net means you get some actual honesty when talking about stuff like this. I dig it.

[/ QUOTE ]

good point.

"the number of stupid people is far higher than the number of smart people"....Im assuming you mean this for everywher on earth, because if you assume its different in Europe...hahah...no

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that was kinda the point. According to my thesis, stupid people are generally stupider in America, and since the number of stupid people outweigh the number of smart people, one might argue that America is stupider on a whole.

Not that that necessarily is a bad thing, as long as I'm also correct that smart people generally are smarter.

Obviously this has a lot to do with more varying levels of quality in public schools and a higher barrier of entry to post-secondary education in the US, as compared to Europe.
