car window tints

so i have a s500 black on black which gets so hot in the summer that it hurts to sit in. i am looking for a place in NY to get tints done. also looking for advice on what % is best since I heard over or under a certain # is considered illegal and can be ticketed for.

anyone in these forums have a car with tints and ever get [censored] from police about it e.g. being pulled over just to ticket for the tints or would u only get a ticket if you were pulled over for something else to begin with (e.g. speeding)

don't worry about catching [censored] from police....where you run into trouble is finding a gas/service station that will give you an inspection sticker each year...they won't inspect your vehicle if the tint is too dark (some places turn a blind eye, others are real strict a-holes about it)
