You mean rescued again. Even then apparently they have to do what ever has to be done, or Jack does, on the island before leaving. That and the producers have always said Lost has some crazy dramatic ending to the series.

Also, unless the newspaper clipping is supposed to be about a new character we know nothing of yet, they might have just put in a random name because they figured people would be examining it in all sorts of crazy detail. But if they dont cater to that, and the name is what it is, sounds like its a character we know nothing of yet. Its not locke. I doubt its Ben, unless he was somehow pulled off the island. Ben makes more sense than Locke, but its probably neither, which makes the most sense.
